August 3, 2010 - 4 weeks off of the re-feed program and on my own!

Well I went to clinical last night Tuesday August 3, 2010 and it was my first visit since I came off of the re-feed program 4 weeks ago.
I lost 1 pound and now weigh 175 pounds.  It was great seeing the Clinical team at the hospital and good to talk and meet with other NutriMeders'.
I met with the nutritionist and she decided that I needed to add more protein to my daily diet by eating more chicken, fish and/or adding nuts or peanut butter.  She said that I also need to add some fat to my diet as I am eating pretty lean most days.
I am still around 1,998 calories per day but not sure if I am getting them all in or not.  It is really hard to tell when you are busy most days.
I still workout at the gym 5 days a week and I have also added a couple of 1 hour classes 2 times per week such as Zumba and step arobics + abs.  I really enjoy those classes and it is fun with a group too.  I think that I will try a new class on Thursday's to see number one if I can even do it or even last the full hour.  It is Boot Camp Conditioning and I think that it is going to kick my &$*.
It was also suggested that I reduce my workout days from 5 days per week to 4.  So, I will be taking off on Wednesdays and as always, Sundays.  I'll see if I like this schedule and if not, go back to 5 days as I still enjoy working out each morning before work.  It really sets the tone for my work day and I also feel good that my workout is completed and have the remainder of the day to do whatever I want to do.
If anyone is at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence or Ft. Thomas the month of August look at the display case as soon as you walk in the front doors.  You will see the NutriMed system displayed and also before and after photos of me.  I guess you can call me the Nutrimed "poster-child".  LOL.
Wow, I look at the before photo of me and can hardly remember that person.  However, it does put everything in perspective as I realize on a daily basis that I do not want to look like that again.  That alone keeps me motivated, watching my diet and working out as often as possible.
If you think about it, it is all about choices and I have choosen a "life style" change.  I enjoy my new appearance, I like my new clothes, I feel 100% better-all the time and I like my new eating and exercise habits.
This experience has truly been a roller-coster ride since the very beginning.  And with anything you have your ups and downs (roller-coster again) but at the end you have to decide if it was worth it.  I can answer that in one word...YES!
I could not have done this without the support of my wife, Jenny, my kids, Josh, Justin & Jillian and family and friends.  Thank you all so much.
I will return for my next clinical visit in 4 weeks and we will go from there.  I will update my blog at that time if anyone is still interested.
