Tuesday…
Hey, it’s been a few days. I will tell you that I have missed updating my blog on a daily basis but honestly on the re-feed portion of this diet not a lot is going on.
I am day 7 on my re-feed diet and I am still having a hard time getting the 4 shakes in each day and the 2 meals too.
I will be glad when this week starts so I can reduce another shake each day down to 3.
The only think that increases this week on my daily food allowance is I get another bread/starch exchange.
I am excited for this as I can then eat a bread product either twice a day or a bread product and a starch (potato or maybe popcorn)?
As I said earlier it has been an uneventful week so far. I am getting better at eating again and it doesn’t take me the 40 or 50 minutes to get down a small meal as it did the first two days of the re-feed program.
I still depend on the shakes each day as I they are full of vitamins and nutrients that I still need on this very low calorie intake each day. My first week of calories per day is 726. Still not a lot, but more then the liquid portion only of 420 calories per day.
Now that the weather is nice I have started seeing a lot of people that I have not seen in a long time and all are amazed of how much weight that I have lost and how good I look. I also tell them that I feel GREAT too and glad to be at this weight instead of my old Jon weight of 245.6 pounds. I see a picture of me the day that I started the NutriMed diet on March 1st of this year and I say to my self, “who is that person”? I am very, very glad that I found this diet through St. Elizabeth Healthcare and would highly recommend it to anyone who is SERIOUS about losing weight. I have said many times that it is not easy and you really have to stay focused but if you are determined, then you too will succeed!
I had my clinical visit today and meet with the nutritionist for about a ½ hour and then with the nurse for about 40 minutes. My blood pressure is excellent 110/62 and I even lost weight this week. My current weight is 183.5 pounds.
I feel great and eager to start week two.

Day Eight One & last daily blog. (I will post each Tuesday after Clinical)
Friday…
I enjoyed last nights dinner and now glad that I am back to eating again.
When I first decided that I was going to loose weight back in February I set a goal for myself to have all of the weight off of me by my 50th Birthday. Today is my 50th and I have accomplished my goal and even then some.
I am beginning a new chapter in my life not only as a 50 year old but also as a much healthier person at this stage in my life. And, I also received my “official” AARP card! What a hoot!
Well I went to my Doctor today and I received great news. He took me off ALL of my blood pressure pills (4) and my high cholesterol pill. YEAH… this is what I was aiming for and extremely happy.
My wife and some neighbors are taking me to Buffalo Wild Rings tonight and I am going to have their naked grilled tenders and maybe a little chips and salsa.
Tomorrow night we are all going to Hollywood Casinos “Boogie Nights” disco and I am going to dance the night away. LOL.
Today will be my last DAILY blog entry however I will add an entry each Tuesday night after my St. E. clinical visit for the week.
If you are still interested in reading then look for it on Tuesdays.
Have a great weekend everyone…I’ll post this coming Tuesday. C-ya

DAY EIGHTY...
Thursday…
I didn’t do as well on my first day of the re-feed program as I thought that I would.
I could not get in the 4 required shakes. I tried but only could manage 2 shakes yesterday and a small lunch and dinner meal. I was too full and ran out of day!
I have tried to do better today as I know that the shakes are still important to me and the successfulness of the NutriMed diet.
I have had 3 today plus lunch and now ready to eat my dinner. I honestly do not know if I can get the 4th shake in or not before bed.
My second day has been good. I started my day at the fitness center and always feel good when I begin my day working out.
I am looking forward to going to Buffalo Wild Wings with my wife and maybe some neighbors on Friday evening for my 50th. I picked there because the first week that I went on the NutriMed diet back in March of this year we went to Buffalo Wild Wings that first Friday and it was my first trip to a restaurant without being able to eat anything. So, I decided, how fitting to go back to BW’s the week that I can actually eat and besides it’s my 50th Birthday!
I have decided to have their Naked Tenders with a small amount of dipping sauce and that’s all. I also received a free B-day coupon for a desert (how ironic) and will gladly be passing that off to someone else in our group.
All to all it’s been a pretty good 2nd day.
I am looking forward to my Doctor’s appointment on Friday afternoon, but most of all looking forward to seeing my Doctor’s face when he sees me! LOL
The bummer is I also have lab test(s) and my appointment is not until 1pm so I have to fast from midnight tonight until after the lab work at 1. My whole schedule will be off and I will be lucky to get all of the shakes in tomorrow too. Sigh, what a dilemma!
It’s all good, really!

Day Seventy Nine...("I get to eat"!) LOL...
Wednesday…
Food Wednesday-LOL
I packed my lunch last night (boy, does that sound funny). So today for lunch I had 1.5 oz of fat free Turkey breast, ½ cup cucumbers and red, yellow, orange peppers mixed and 1 ½ tsp. of brown mustard.
Now I’m full and miserable.
I have already had two shakes today and I have two more to go plus dinner tonight. I feel like I am struggling to get it all in today. Sigh…
I did not go to the fitness center this morning as I was really sore from my previous workouts. I increased my sets from 3 sets of 10 on each piece of equipment to 4 sets of 10 now and I can feel it all over.
Not to fret as I brought my gym clothes to go after work today since my wife is out of town on business this week.
I have decided that on the weekends that I am going to cut up all of my fruits and vegetables for the week and store them in airtight containers in the refrig as it would be a pain in the $@% to prepare this each night. Live and learn and then make your life easier…
It has been an exciting first day on the NutriMed re-feed program and now glad that I am at this point of the diet and my life.
I will mention that my stomach has not felt the best all day and I contribute that to eating. I’m not feeling sick by any means, but just a little off. I’ll give it a couple of days and get back to you on this one. LOL
Till tomorrow, people.

Day Seventy Eight...Last day of complete liquid diet...
Tuesday…
Oh, clinical Tuesday…
My morning started out again at the fitness center bright and early and then off to work as usual.
Well today is the day that I have been waiting for, for almost 12 weeks now. It is officially my last full day on the NutriMed complete liquid diet. WHOO-HOO!!!
You know, I didn’t even really care about if I did or did not loose weight this past week. I haven’t done anything different and I still had my daily shakes, still had 100 + oz of water each day and still exercised 5 times this past week. But you know it is making it to the end of this incredible journey that I have been looking forward too.
My weight loss was~~~~~ 4 pounds and I am now down to 186 pounds, 2 pounds lower then my goal weight. As of today I have lost a total of 60 pounds in 11 weeks on the NutriMed liquid diet.
It is with mixed emotions that I close out today and this chapter of the NutriMed diet and now I find myself at the beginning of a new NutriMed chapter. Chapter 1, page 1, “The re-feed portion”.
I bought my food scale at Bed, Bath & Beyond today and after I complete this blog entry I will be preparing my 1st real meal for Wednesday of the following: 3 oz of lean, meat, ½ cup of cooked vegetables or 1 cup of raw vegetables, 1 bread/starch exchange and 1 fruit exchange. Plus I still have 4 shakes for the day.
THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME…
I have had a couple of requests from current blog followers to keep posting everyday but I have not decided if I am going to post everyday or not.
If you are reading this and would like for me to continue to post daily on my blog, I would appreciate it if you would either comment on my blog to let me know your thoughts or to send me an email associated with the blog at jon.mason@insightbb.com .
Either way I will get the message.
Till tomorrow, my BIG Wednesday, everyone---c-ya!

Day Seventy Seven...
Monday…
Ugh, rain & cold.
I worked out this morning at the fitness center and was a little sore before I even started due to all of the yard work/landscaping work that I worked on over the weekend.
I actually did not think that I would make it through the 45 minutes on the treadmill this morning. I did, and glad I pushed on.
My day was kind of an uneventful day and really not much going on.
I am ready for my clinical visit tomorrow at St. E’s and then really, really ready for Wednesday to begin my re-feed program on NutriMed.
I am trying to decide if I am going to try and eat my required amount all in one sitting or space it out throughout the day.
I start off with 3oz of meat, ½ cup of cooked vegetables or 1 cup of raw vegetables and then a bread/starch serving and a fruit serving.
Now that I typed all of that I don’t think that I will be able to eat everything at once so I guess I will spread it out throughout the day to see how that works for me.
Wow, this is going to take some getting used too and also some planning on my part the night before.
I’m not sure if I lost any weight this week as it is getting more difficult each week due to I am right upon my goal weight and I think that my body is telling me, this is enough and we don’t want to go any lower. If that is the case then I am fine with that. If not, then I guess that I could lose a little more weight over the next 5 weeks on the re-feed program.
I would ultimately like to keep my weight between 180 and 190 pounds and my waist between a 32” and 34” size.
I guess this will all depend on once I come off of the re-feed program and talk to the nutritionist at St. E’s. I am really curious to know how many calories I can take in each day to keep at the above weight and size.
I think (trying to be realistic) that a 10 pound weight range (180-190) is doable and my waist size too.
Let’s see what “clinical Tuesday” brings and then onto re-feed Wednesday!

Day Seventy Six...
Sunday…
I’m getting closer to the end of the liquid portion only of the NutriMed diet and counting down the days until Wednesday.
My wife and daughter went to the grocery store today to get regular “family” groceries and also my grocery list.
I have 98% fat free turkey breast and ham. 2% cottage cheese, fresh asparagus, broccoli, apples, bananas, oranges, pita pockets, English muffins (100 calorie), flat bread (100 calorie, Sprite zero, chicken breast, sugar free jell-o, etc, etc, etc,
I still have to pick up a food scale so I can weigh everything but I can run out and get that the first part of the week.
I have decided to go to the fitness center every day this week Monday thru Friday and try to get some of my “troubled” spots off of me. I know that it takes time but want a couple of these areas off of me completely sooner than later.
I now have very few clothes that actually fit me so now that I know that I can wear my boy’s cloths I have been raiding their closets. LOL
I have a pair of my sons American Eagle shorts on now and they fit great! Oh, there a size 32” waist too.
It has been a busy weekend around our house working in the front and back yard and I started again this morning working on the back. Every part of my body hurts and I will be glad to go back to work tomorrow so I can rest. LOL
My wife is grilling out tonight, Rib eye steaks, grilled mushrooms and onions, backed potatoes, corn on the cob and raw green, yellow & red peppers with light ranch dressing. My daughter is baking fun-fetti (sp?) cupcakes with icing.
It smells great and thinking that next week I can have a bite of some things too.
I hope the weekend was a good one for everybody, till Monday, enjoy the rest of your Sunday…

Day Seventy Five...
Saturday…
WOW, what a busy Saturday. I got up early to go to Lowes to get a few things to work in our backyard and my day has not quit since.
I started the morning off with my first NutriMed shake and headed out the door.
When I got home I unloaded our van and started working. I decided to put on a tank top today and found it to be very, very large on me. It was comfortable and I didn’t have a small one so I wore it.
It is now 8 hours later since I started and have called it a day.
While I worked in the back yard around our pool my wife worked in the front yard. Between the two of us we accomplished a lot of required yard work today. I still didn’t get one of my outdoor projects completed today but as they say….tomorrow is another day.
I have drank so much water today from being outside all day that I will be going to the bathroom all throughout the night. Oh wait, I do that already! LOL
We have been invited down to some neighbor’s house tonight for a grill out and relax in their backyard. I will drink one of my shakes before we go down and then also take a couple of diet drinks. No more water for me today.
I am counting down in my head that I only have 4 more days of the all liquid diet. Dang, if this was next week I could have taken a meal prepared by me to their cookout and ate with them for a change.
I think that this is what I am looking forward too is eating again with family and friends. I don’t really care if I eat the same things that they are eating but just being able to eat with them again instead of drinking a shake will be wonderful.
I am not sure what Sunday is going to bring as I guess it will depend on the weather. If it’s nice out again I guess I will do what I did today. Work in the yard.
Time to go…..have a great Saturday evening….

Day Seventy Four...
Friday….
It has been a great Friday but I am extremely glad that the week is over and the weekend is about to begin.
I was at the fitness center at 6:30am this morning and did my 70 minute routine.
I hit a milestone today as it is casual Friday (every Friday) at our company and I usually wear jeans. Last night I put on my jeans and belt like I always do and I walked across the floor in my bedroom and my jeans went down to around my ankle.
OK, that was not good and I did not know what I was going to wear for casual Friday. I then got my new Dockers out to wear when I decided just for fun to go into our laundry room and get a couple of pair of my boy’s jeans to see how they fit. To my surprise both pair fit and the kicker is they are a size 32 waist!
I was so excited and cannot remember the last time that I was in a 32” pair of pants.
I wore my jeans (my son’s jeans) proudly today and was on cloud nine all day.
I decided to get a box from work to start packing up some of my clothes in my closet as after someone looses 55 and a half pounds nothing really fits anymore and it is a struggle just to keep it on your frame/body.
I have started my official countdown on my last official days of the NutriMed all liquid diet and anxiously getting ready to start the NutriMed re-feed program next Wednesday.
I only have 5 more days to go.
I have already made out my first weeks grocery list (man does that sound funny) and will be going to the store the first part of next week.
I remember about 9 weeks ago while on the NutriMed diet thinking….OMG, I still have 9 weeks to go and wondered if I would make it. Now I have answered my own question, yes I have made it and will continue to follow their program through to the end.
I have my first Doctor’s appointment with my family Doctor next Friday May 21, 2010 at 1:00pm and it will be the first time that he has seen me since the week before I stated the NutriMed program on March 1, 2010. I cannot wait to see his face when he walks into the exam room and I know it will be the first time since I started going to him 16 years ago that he will not have a comment on my weight.
I am also hoping that he will remove me from most of my prescriptions as I am only taking ¼ of each blood pressure pill now and a whole cholesterol pill.
My goal when I decided to go on the NutriMed program in February of this year was to get the weight off before my 50th Birthday. Ironically that would be next Friday May 21st and I can say that I DID IT!
Till tomorrow blog followers, have a great Friday! Jon

Day Seventy Three..
Thursday…
Whew, what a week and a half.
As I was getting ready for bed last night I told my wife that I think that I only had two NutriMed shakes for the day. I looked at the clock and it was almost 11:30pm and I thought, too late and went to bed.
I have never only had two shakes in a day before, but it has been just one of those weeks.
I am back on schedule today and glad that my week is coming to an end.
I am going to the fitness center early Friday morning and also getting back into that routine again as well. I have still made it to the fitness center three times this week, well including tomorrow and I am thankful that I got this many workouts in.
I have also reviewed and re-reviewed the two packets that the nutritionist gave me for the re-feed program and I have almost got my schedule down for the next five weeks. She said that I would need to create a “food journal” to track my daily intake and to bring with me each Tuesday. So I have created a daily sheet with all food items that I could have or choose from and then I placed a box next to the item so I could mark it when I had prepared or have eaten it. This would keep me on track as to what I have had for the day, in what category, and also serves as my food journal for the nutritionist.
I am pretty pleased with the log/journal and I know that it will help me throughout the next 5 weeks.
My wife and I took our out of town corporate guests to a restaurant for lunch today that we enjoy going to and one that I have not been to since February due to the diet. The waitress kept staring at me (she always waited on me before) and asked if I was OK and that she has missed seeing me. After everyone ordered their lunch, she looked at me again, and said aren’t you having anything. I said no, just unsweetened tea with lemon. As I was paying the bill at the register she came up to me and asked if I had been feeling OK. I said that I have and never felt better. I asked her why she asked. She said that I have lost so much weight she was not sure if I had been ill or in the hospital. I said no, just a liquid diet for 3 months! We laughed, and she said that she thought that I had cancer or something due to my rapid weight loss and was thankful that I was just on a diet.
Huh, I never had that happen to me before so I left her a “big” tip and told her that I would be back in to eat when I was off of my restricted liquid diet.
Again, what a week! LOL

Day Seventy Two...
Wednesday…
I actually got to go to the fitness center this morning before work for a 70 minute workout. This is the 2nd time this week that I have been able to make it. My next day to go will be on Friday. So, only 3 times this week due to a very busy and hectic work schedule.
I started reading my handouts that I received from the Hospital nutritionist and have found that the next 5 weeks (starting next Wednesday 5/19) are going to be interesting to say the least.
My head is spinning on trying to figure out the portion or serving size and the food group that I am allowed to eat it from. I have decided to put a plan into action to map out my daily food intake for the next five (5) weeks and will work on it this weekend.
I think that I am going to create a daily spread sheet for that individual week and then create a check off item list of approved foods and amounts to keep me straight.
I’ll get back to you on this as it progresses.
I can hardly believe that I only have 6 more days of only the liquid diet. I am so looking forward to this and experiencing the taste of food again.
My blood pressure is still low and at my last reading it was 104/62. I hope my Doctor is as impressed as I am. I am calling for an appointment with him next week.
I am posting early today as we are taking our corporate guests out to PF Chang’s tonight for dinner and I do not want to be posting late again like I did last night due to going to Mitchell’s Fish Market
I had Iced Tea with lemon last night and I guess that I will have that same fare again tonight.
Another night of one of my favorite restaurants and cannot eat…what the heck is going on here? Oh well, I am way too close to the end to partake in food now so I will again have to survive another nice restaurant dinner without eating. Ho-hum

Day Seventy One...
Tuesday…
Clinical Tuesday once again and now I am on my last full week of the NutriMed liquid diet program.
I have requested to start my re-feed program at my next clinical meeting on Tuesday May 18, 2010. Yes, yes, yes!
I was able to go to the fitness center yesterday late afternoon and get in a portion of my daily workout due to my wife was catching up on paperwork and getting ready for our meetings this week. I only did the treadmill but I was on it for 45 minutes and I actually “ran” on it for 14 minutes-straight! Whew, now that was an accomplishment for me. I ran a 14 minute mile. Don’t laugh as that was pretty good for an ex-fat boy and considering that this is only my 5th week at Bally’s. It’s amazing how many more calories you burn running on the treadmill rather then just a really, really brisk walk like I normally do. Typically I burn about 255 calories alone while walking on the treadmill in 45 minutes. Yesterday I burnt 324 calories by running and brisk walking in 45 minutes. There went 4 of my NutriMed shakes for the day – gone!
Sorry for such a late post but after being in meetings all day at work and my clinical visit at St. E’s I had to meet our out of town managers at Mitchell’s Fish House to watch everyone else eat dinner, great unsweetened Iced tea though, it has been a long day.
Well my week of clinical ended like this~~~~~~~I lost another 2.5 pounds this past week. My current weight is 190.5 and I have 2.5 pounds to lose to reach my goal weight of 188 pounds. I have lost since March 1, 2010--------55 pounds.
I knew that this week’s loss would not be spectacular as I lost so much last week. I am clearly not disappointed in this week’s lose and even more excited that I am 2.5 pounds closer to my goal.
All is good and looking forward to the last full week on my all liquid diet. Next Tuesday starts the next phase of this diet and I am looking forward to another beginning.

DAY SEVENTY!!!
Monday…
This starts my “off” week as my complete schedule will be changed due to meetings Monday thru Thursday with our company COO and operation managers.
I really missed going to the fitness center this morning and I am not sure if I will get there until this coming Thursday when my meetings are over.
I had to change my clinical visit too from 4:30pm on Tuesdays each week to 12:30pm. Even that schedule is off this week.
I am going to meet with Karen the NutriMed clinical RN/director to discuss my re-feed program starting the following Tuesday May 18th.
This will be my LAST week on the complete liquid diet portion of the NutriMed system.
I cannot believe that I am coming upon the next phase of this program. It is with mixed emotions and a little anxiety as I have gotten so used to the NutriMed diet and not eating that I am a little nervous with introducing food back into my life.
Now don’t get me wrong, I know that it is time for me to start eating again but on the flipside, I am a little skittish!
My wife is very excited too as a week from this Friday will be my 50th Birthday and she is looking forward to going out to dinner to celebrate and that I can actually eat (although, not much) a meal with her.
I had to miss her 40th Birthday (April 19) dinner celebration but I will make that up to her and more once I start eating again.
I am very excited to meet with the nutritionist to get my re-feed program started and more so to see what my daily calorie intake will be once I come off of the re-feed program to maintain my current weight.
I would like to stay between 188 and 190 pounds if possible.
I am not sure if I will loose anymore weight while on the re-feed program as I have been told that it depends on the individual. Some loose weight and some just maintain.
If I would be the one person to lose additional weight and I go below my original goal weight of 188 pounds then I would like to keep my weight at a point between 180 and 190 at all times.
I think that sounds pretty reasonable and maintainable. One thing that I have never wanted to do while on this diet is to be unrealistic and setting myself up to fail. I’ve had my goal weight in mind since the very first day of the diet and now that I am almost there I feel that I can maintain that or even a few pounds less without causing a lot of stress to keep it there.
Tuesday night we are taking our managers to one of my favorite restaurants, Mitchell’s Fish Market at Newport on the Levee. Unfortunately it will be a meal that I will miss and as always have a glass of unsweetened tea or lemon water. In the back of my mind I know that I will be eating there again, fairly soon. Baked fish, crab legs (nothing fried), steamed broccoli, small salad, etc. Umm-mmmm-good!

Day Sixty Eight...
Saturday…
Is it winter again?
What a Saturday…busy, busy, busy. I decided to get flowers for our urns around our pool and front of the house by our entryway. I also wanted to start an herb garden this year so I bought 6 herb plants, 2 Roma tomato plants and a jalapeƱo plant so when I get off of this “damn” diet I can make some fresh salsa!
I was going to plant them today in a new pot that I got for the herbs, tomato plants and jalapeno plant but it was just too cold outside.
Anyway, I will get them potted on Sunday and call my new herb garden officially in!
Its 8 o’clock and I can’t remember how many NutriMed shakes that I have had today. I tell you, the weekends throw me all of whack and I seem to loose track every weekend. So do I drink another one? Maybe I have already had 5 today? Do I not drink one? Well I’ve decided that if my stomach starts growling then I will fix a shake.
I can tell you that I have had a lot of water today as all I seem to do is go to the bathroom. I think that I have had my water fill for the day and now looking for either a Crystal Light to drink or maybe even a Sprite Zero. Whoo-hoo, I’m living it up on a Saturday night! LOL.
Not much else going on here this evening so I guess I will close for now. To all of the Mother’s ~~~ have a great Mother’s Day!

Day Sixty Seven...
Friday…
Well I lied! As I was getting ready for bed Thursday night (around 11:30) I thought why am I not going to workout on Friday morning? And since I did not have an answer I decided to pack my gym bag and get my work clothes ready for another day at the fitness center.
I got up this morning and went directly to the fitness center and did my usual workout routine for 70 minutes.
I am now glad that I did as I always feel great throughout the day when I start at the fitness center.
***I have also updated my blog photo with a current picture of me as of today Friday May 7, 2010***
I stopped at Kohl’s last night on the way home to finally buy me a new pair of Dockers and a couple of shirts, a new belt, dress socks and undershirts and pants.
My “big boy” waist pant size used to be around 40 to 41” and that was with a pleated front too. The Dockers that I bought last night was a 34” waist with no pleats!
I also bought me a nice Polo shirt in a large and a dress shirt also a large. I actually tried on a medium of each and could wear it but it was a little uncomfortable under my arms so I opted to get a large instead.
I did however buy a size medium in under garments. Me a medium, I would never ever thought that I would ever wear a medium in anything my whole life.
I went from a 2 XLG shirt size to a large and undergarment size to a medium. I am blown away from this now.
I only bought a few items as I am unsure if I am going to loss anymore weight or possible gain a pound or two after the re-feed program ends and I start eating 3 regular meals each day and then 3 snacks each day.
It will be interesting to find out how many calories that I will be permitted to have each day to maintain my current weight and most of to not gain any weight.
Nothing is ever easy especially when it comes to weight loss or control.

Day Sixty Six...
Thursday…
Aaahhh, I completed my last workout for the week this morning at the fitness center.
4 days in and I feel pretty good. Next week begins my 3 days per week for a while.
Not a lot going on with the diet this week. As you progress each week it becomes such a habit that your daily routine doesn’t change and I guess it get’s kinda boring.
I have decided that when I begin the re-feed portion of the NutriMed system that I will probably not update my blog daily. I was thinking about maybe once a week and probably on Tuesday’s as I will still be going to clinical each Tuesday at St. E’s.
I thought that this would be a good day as it is the beginning of each of my weeks and the completion of another week.
If I find that I have a lot going on during the week I will then update more frequently.
I honestly don’t know how many people are following this blog as my blog site only shows 3 followers but I know that there are quite a few people who log onto my Face Book profile page and connect by the link that I have supplied there.
Regardless if anyone reads my daily posts or not, it makes me feel better and keeps me on track with my liquid diet. It’s almost like an outlet as when I started I was up and down and all over the place the first couple of weeks as my body was trying to adjust from eating to not eating. Now as the weeks have passed it gives me a chance to let everyone know what I have experienced during this time and if anyone else is interested in going on the NutriMed diet what they can expect as the weeks progress.
However you need to realize that everyone is different and will not experience the same thing as another individual.
I hope for those of you who have kept up with my blog that it has been enjoyable and will continue to follow my “journey” as I move to the next phase of the NutriMed system with the re-feed program.
Till Friday…have a great Thursday evening…Jon

Day Sixty Five...
Wednesday…
I am still on a “high” from my past week’s weight loss and glad that the complete liquid diet is almost behind me. Come on 5 more pounds!
I worked out at the fitness center this morning and even through an extra 10 reps in each of my Nautilus equipment that I workout on each morning. Now, I’m sore! LOL
I am not sure if I will get the last 5 pounds off this week, but I am sure going to try.
I had to change my clinical visit time for next Tuesday from 4:30pm to 12:30pm due to weekly work meetings that are schedule for next Monday thru Thursday. Our COO will be in town and my week will be jammed with meetings.
It is going to be different going to clinical at 12:30pm but I was glad that they could accommodate.
Next week will also be a little challenging getting my workouts in as I will be without my company car and cannot go into the fitness center at the crack of dawn. I may have to change my whole workout week so I can even go. Now that I think of it I will probably go Friday, Saturday and Sunday to make up my missed time.
When I go onto the NutriMed “re-feed” program I am probably going to cut my weekly workouts down to 3 times per week or Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s. Now it will all depend if I can keep my weight at a reasonable level if not, back to 5 days per week.
The nurse last evening asked me if I wanted to start the re-feed program this week and I politely declined. I would like to get to my goal weight before the re-feed and I guess it will depend on how much I loose this week to determine if I am going to go on it next week or not.
I am in my 10th week as of yesterday and I may start the re-feed next week at my 11th week or if not, definitely the following week at the beginning of my 12th week.
Till tomorrow, have a good Wednesday everyone!

Day Sixty Four...
Tuesday…
It seems like Tuesday’s are coming so fast now. I remember when I started this “damn” diet that it seems like forever for each Tuesday to come. Now, their here every week, quickly too!
There’s not much to say when it’s clinical day and as I have said numerous times before, you just never know how it’s going to shape up for you. Even though the scale has become my friend, all though slightly, it is not as bad as it was before I started this diet or even the first few weeks on this diet as I kindly referred to it as my arch nemesis!
The scale will continue to be my friend until it creeps up a few pounds and then were life long enemies again!!! LOL
This is the first Tuesday in 9 weeks that I did not have to pee in a cup! The sad thing is, that I still drink so much water that as soon as I walk into the hospital doors I head to the men’s room and then I usually head there again when my appointment is over around 50 minutes later. It is sad to have to admit that.
Well let me get to what I have been patiently waiting for since last Tuesday and give you my results… (Drum roll, please)…
I LOST 8 POUNDS THIS WEEK! YES, 8 POUNDS! I have now lost 52.5 pounds in 9 weeks with ONLY 5 pounds to go to my goal weight of 188 pounds. YIPPE, YIPPE, YIPPE~~~~~~~~~~~
I think that working out 70 minutes, 5 times a week is enough for anyone and I am not going to workout on the weekends either. There is just too much going on at our house and I need to give myself a rest from the fitness center each weekend.
Well as week 10 began this morning, bright and early, I am anxious and excited to see what this week has in store for me. Good or bad, I’m better than I was 10 weeks ago, right?
Have a good Tuesday evening everyone and I will post again on Wednesday.
Day Sixty Three...
Monday…
Well I was in my weekday routine again this morning as I started off at the fitness center at 6:30am through 7:45am and then into work.
I will tell you that it was nice having a 3 day break from working out and I know that my body needed it. Now I am hitting the fitness center hard this week each day through Friday.
I’ve gotta’ get these last 12 pounds off of me!
Tomorrow is Tuesday and my weekly hospital visit and I am again anxious to get to it and see what the damage is done. My luck I would have only lost ½ pound and still at the 200 pound mark. I hope not and hope this is another 3 pound or better loss this week.
My blood pressure is still low and I am running out of my prescriptions so I hope that my Doctor will remove them from me so I can see if I can control my blood pressure by diet and exercise instead of prescriptions.
I think that my pressure reading was 111/63 with a pulse rate of 58
I still feel good, actually exceptionally well for my 9th week of the NutriMed diet. My 10th week officially starts tomorrow, Tuesday.
Some days I cannot believe how long I have been on this very restricted diet and then it hits me….12 weeks is a long time to be on a liquid diet! I can honestly tell you that I don’t miss the food, as you get over that about your 3rd or 4th week on the NutriMed diet. And it seems that everything that I want to “taste” is good for you, such as fruit, milk, salad, etc. I will be very glad to start introducing food back into my daily living routine and I know my family will too.
I think that is why it is so important to me to get to my goal weight (188lbs) if possible, as I know I will pick up probably 4 to 6 pounds when I fully start eating again after my 5 week re-feed program. It’s a given, and everyone does, as their body gets used to eating again and consuming calories.
I will continue to work out weekly and watch my calorie intake so I can maintain the weight that I have worked so hard to get down too.
It’s time to close for today and wish me a good clinical trip and weight loss on Tuesday.
I will post after I get home from my weigh-in. Jon

Day Sixty Two...
Sunday…
Whew, I’m tired!
My wife and I had one of busiest Saturday’s that we have had in a very, very long time.
We got up and worked on our pool for about an hour. Then we headed down to a neighbors house to help her move for a few hours. We couldn’t spend as much time helping as we wanted to as we had to get ready for the kids prom
When we got back home we had to take our daughter to the sun bed and then over to Florence to get her hair done for the prom.
We got home from that and then the kids friends started arriving for pictures and so on.
My in-laws came over to see the kids and then some dear old friends came over too as they are our kids Godparents to see them off.
Our friend Dawn has also been on a diet for a few months now and this is the first time that we have seen her. WOW, what a difference. She has lost 36 pounds (maybe more?) and looks fantastic! She is on a calorie diet and has joined a weekly “boot camp” group to workout a couple of times each week. I would like to say congratulations to her on a job well done. I am very proud of her and wish her continued success.
After everyone left my wife and I had to go to one of our nieces and nephews play, Beauty and the Best, Jr. performed at Scott High School. Both are students at Woodland Middle School and the play was excellent.
We got home around 9pm and had one more thing to do for the day. We went to our neighbor’s house again that we helped move as she gave us her master bedroom custom closet enclosure and we had to disassemble and bring to our garage so we can put it in our master bedroom closet.
Finally our Saturday was over.
Sunday seems just as busy as we invited a couple of neighbors up for dinner at 6. I have prepared mixed green salad, with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, celery, carrots, mushrooms, hard boiled eggs and bacon with a couple of dressings. I made homemade stuffed Manicotti stuffed with a couple of cheeses and spinach in a marinara sauce with fresh Parmesan cheese. I also got a large loaf of Italian bread. I roasted a few toes of garlic in the over and then chopped the garlic in drawn butter for the Italian bread spread. I then rubbed fresh garlic over the top of the bread and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese to bake in the over. My final dish is fudge brownies.
I will be drinking my 4th NutriMed shake while they eat my Italian dinner that I prepared.
I still enjoy cooking and even enjoy more cooking for other people, especially for people who appreciate and love to eat!
It has been a great weekend and hope that this week goes as well. It’s getting close to Tuesday and clinical for the week and hope, really hope that I loose at least another 3 pounds. Who knows?

Day Sixty One...
Saturday...
It’s prom day and crazy around the house today.
It’s going to be a short post today as there is just too many things going on and too many teenagers running around.
My wife and I found out last night the apparently our house is going to be the after prom hangout and then a sleepover too.
I think that there are going to be around 17 to 20 kids staying tonight. My oldest son said that he is going to fix a pancake breakfast for all. Well except for me as I will be drinking a glorious NutriMed shake. Humor there!
I’ve gotta go and get the kids off to the prom.
Till tomorrow, have a great Saturday night!
